"Like a panda with a mean face, or like sandals with pressure points drawn on them, or the smell of a blackboard eraser, or a Sunday morning where you wake up and it's raining."

I wonder why things can go from being perfect to being completely ruined, ya know? You go through life hoping to find happiness, and eventually you do. That happiness consumes you, and you become lost in a world full of light where nothing can go wrong; you allow yourself to become open to it all.

However, just like that panda with the mean face or the Sunday morning where you wake up to find rain, that happiness you felt can be taken away rather quickly. Its something thats so fleeting and when you lose that happiness it hurts. Happiness is impermanent, thats the truth of the matter. Just like every single thing in this world, happiness is just one more thing that eventually fades away.

Yet despite the fact that this is truth, we continuously make the mistake of sometimes thinking that the thing that makes us happiest will last forever. When it remains with us for an extended period of time, and we allow ourselves to be consumed by it we lose sight of the truth. It can all disappear, and the more attached we were to whatever happiness we had the more it will hurt us.

We get hurt all the time, and yet we continue forward in life. The pursuit of happiness is neverending, and just as easily as happiness disappears it can reappear again in another form. When one light fades a new one will shine sooner or later, and if we catch hold of that light, and allow it to consume us once more, we pray that this light will last longer than the last.
